The Spirit of the Mountain Church offers a unique sacred calendar known as the Spirit of the Mountain Solar Calendar. This solar calendar beautifully aligns with the Lucent Cycle, marking significant Days of Observance throughout the year, including the Winter Solstice and other important seasonal events. Each entry in this calendar reflects the themes of LucentRise, celebrating the natural rhythms of our environment.
The Lucent Cycle serves as the sacred calendar of the Spirit of the Mountain Worship Church. This solar calendar is designed to align with the rhythms of nature, consisting of thirteen months with 28 days each, starting from the Winter Solstice and culminating in a day of joy and renewal known as LucentRise. Additionally, every fourth year, a unique mid-year day called The Long Awakening prompts us to pause and reconnect with what truly matters. Through the observance of this calendar, we foster a deeper connection to the Earth, to each other, and to the profound flow of life, emphasizing that it is not merely a way to mark time, but a means of honoring it.
Structure: A 360-day sacred calendar begins at the Winter Solstice, organized into 13 months of 28 days each (4 weeks of 7 days). At the end of this cycle, there is one sacred LucentRise day, marking the 365th day of the year. Every four years, an additional day, known as The Long Awakening (Leap Day), is added between months 6 and 7. All dates are aligned with the solar calendar, spiritually anchored in the consciousness of the Spirit of the Mountain Church and stewardship.
